Je ne s\u00e9pare pas la recherche acad\u00e9mique de la cr\u00e9ation artistique : l\u2019une nourrit l\u2019autre pour d\u00e9construire les r\u00e9cits dominants sur la nature et proposer de nouvelles fa\u00e7ons d\u2019habiter le monde.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Docteure en histoire moderne, je sp\u00e9cialise dans l\u2019\u00e9tude des relations entre humains et non-humains (plantes, racines, \u00e9cosyst\u00e8mes) \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9poque moderne (XVIe-XVIIIe si\u00e8cles). Mais mon ancrage dans le pass\u00e9 sert un projet r\u00e9solument contemporain : <strong>d\u00e9coloniser notre imaginaire \u00e9cologique<\/strong> et repenser nos communs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">English :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">My work lies at the intersection of the history of science, political botany, and the visual arts. I do not separate academic research from artistic creation: one feeds the other to deconstruct dominant narratives about nature and propose new ways of inhabiting the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With a doctorate in modern history, I specialize in the study of the relationships between humans and non-humans (plants, roots, ecosystems) in the early modern period (16th-18th centuries). But my grounding in the past serves a resolutely contemporary project: decolonizing our ecological imagination and rethinking our commons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ma recherche analyse comment les repr\u00e9sentations du v\u00e9g\u00e9tal ont \u00e9t\u00e9 utilis\u00e9es pour justifier des hi\u00e9rarchies de genre, d\u2019esp\u00e8ce et de race. Elle s\u2019articule autour de trois concepts majeurs <strong>:<\/strong><br>J\u2019ai d\u00e9montr\u00e9 comment, entre la Renaissance et le Grand Si\u00e8cle, les savants et artistes ont r\u00e9\u00e9crit les mythes antiques (comme D\u00e9m\u00e9ter-Kor\u00e9) et les descriptions botaniques (comme la mandragore) pour :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Naturaliser la domination des hommes sur les femmes (la femme = nature passive ou sorci\u00e8re dangereuse).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Transformer la plante d\u2019un sujet vivant en un <strong>\u00ab objet-racine \u00bb<\/strong>, mesurable et exploitable.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Imposer une vision m\u00e9caniste et extractiviste du monde, effa\u00e7ant les savoirs empiriques et populaires.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><em>English <\/em><\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">My research analyzes how representations of plants have been used to justify hierarchies of gender, species, and race. It revolves around three major concepts:<br>I have demonstrated how, between the Renaissance and the Grand Si\u00e8cle (the 17th century), scholars and artists rewrote ancient myths (such as Demeter-Kore) and botanical descriptions (such as the mandrake) to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Naturalize male domination over women (woman = passive nature or dangerous witch).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Transform the plant from a living subject into a measurable and exploitable \u201croot-object.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Impose a mechanistic and extractivist vision of the world, erasing empirical and popular knowledge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ma pratique artistique est le laboratoire o\u00f9 ces concepts prennent vie. Je con\u00e7ois et anime des dispositifs participatifs pour rendre sensibles ces enjeux th\u00e9oriques.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Le projet RADIS (Recherche-Action, D\u00e9centr\u00e9e, Inclusive, Sensible)<\/strong> est un cycle d\u2019ateliers d\u2019arts plastiques et de r\u00e9flexion qui invite \u00e0 :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Cartographier le corps et le chez-soi :<\/strong> Explorer comment la colonialit\u00e9 se loge dans nos gestes quotidiens, nos objets intimes et nos espaces de vie.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>D\u00e9coloniser le regard :<\/strong> Apprendre \u00e0 voir l\u2019histoire cach\u00e9e des plantes qui nous entourent, la texture des mat\u00e9riaux, et les r\u00e9cits invisibles qui structurent notre environnement.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>R\u00e9v\u00e9ler l\u2019agentivit\u00e9 :<\/strong> Identifier notre capacit\u00e9 d\u2019agir (<em>agency<\/em>) pour transformer nos habitudes et construire des communs plus justes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u00c0 travers le dessin, le collage, l\u2019\u00e9criture et l\u2019observation sensible, les participants ne produisent pas seulement des \u0153uvres, mais <strong>exp\u00e9rimentent une nouvelle fa\u00e7on d\u2019\u00eatre au monde<\/strong>. Il s\u2019agit de passer du statut de consommateur passif de la nature \u00e0 celui d\u2019acteur conscient d\u2019un \u00e9cosyst\u00e8me conflictuel et coop\u00e9ratif.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8212;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">English :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">My artistic practice is the laboratory where these concepts come to life. I design and facilitate participatory projects to make these theoretical issues tangible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The RADIS project (Research-Action, Decentered, Inclusive, Sensitive) is a series of visual arts and reflection workshops that invites participants to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Map the body and the home: Explore how coloniality is embedded in our daily gestures, our personal belongings, and our living spaces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Decolonize our gaze: Learn to see the hidden history of the plants around us, the texture of materials, and the invisible narratives that structure our environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Reveal agency: Identify our capacity to act (agency) in order to transform our habits and build more equitable commons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Through drawing, collage, writing, and sensitive observation, participants not only produce artworks but also experience a new way of being in the world.
